Doepfer A-106-5 SEM filter

via this auction

"This multimode filter is based on the Oberheim 12dB SEM VCF design. While the LP mode is rather smooth and typical of the Oberheim sound, it can get real nasty. The output will distort VCO's when the level goes past about 5-6. Makes for some nice overdriven sounds, especially in bandpass. Another neat advantage to this VCF is that it's output can be mixed from Lowpass to Highpass and everything in between! (notch)"

Update: I received a scam alert on this one. You can find the original auction here. Note the seller is different and the winning bid of the prior auction is not the seller of the new auction.

Formanta UDS Drum Module

images via this auction
"Formanta UDS vintage analog Drum machine & Trigger module / "Brain" ... usually use it as a sound module triggered from an 808 or 707, it originally was produced to be used in conjunction with the 80's style hexagon drum pads which is still possible. you can find more information here or here It's a 7 channel analog Drum machine and trigger-able module. Produced around 1986. 5 independent channels of drum sound synthesis. Additional channels for cymbal and hi-hat synth sounds. Controls for each channel: input signal sensitivity, tone pitch, pitch envelope time, pitch modulation, noise/tone balance, filter's cutoff for noise, accent ,volume. Oscillators: VCO + Noise, Oscillators Waves: sawtooth, square. Onboard drummachine with 16 preset drum patterns. You can switch every drum sound channel to its preset sound or switch it in "synthesis" mode and then control channel's parameters by 8 knobs. The drum machine and the synthesizer are independent modules so they can work at the same time freely. And you can tweak the generators of the beatbox patterns. Connectors on on the rear panel - 7 AUDIO IN for each drum channel, Mono AUDIO out, Left /Right OUT. Pedal Inputs. All connectors are on standard 1/4 '' jack."

MOTM-300 Ultra VCO

via this auction
"The MOTM-300 Ultra VCO represents a milestone in analog synthesizer design. Using only the finest available circuitry, the Ultra VCO has unmatched performance where it's needed most: stability and tracking. Using 4 separate temperature compensation servo loops, the average drift over 12 hours is typically 0.01% or about thirty times better than a Moog 921B VCO! Why do we call it the Ultra VCO? Because the tracking circuitry uses an ultra-matched differential pair transistor array that will hold over a minimum of 15 octaves! That's twice the range of a piano.

Although we put the focus of the design on stability, the MOTM-300 is indeed a 'full-featured' VCO. Sine, Saw, Triangle, and Pulse waveforms are all available simultaneously. PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) with initial pulse width and depth creates complex spectra. Other features include:

Dedicated 1volt/octave input with military-spec 25ppm 0.1% summing resistor

2 separate Frequency Modulation (FM) inputs, each with it's own attenuator

Linear FM with switchable AC or DC coupling

PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) from DC to over 15Khz

Hard and Soft sync option. Master Sync I/O jack.

Low power consumption, only requires +-15VDC @ 60ma.

All audio signals wired with coaxial cable for lowest noise and crosstalk

Low-drift op amps and precision resistors used throughout

10 volts peak-peak audio outputs

Frequency range from 0.2Hz to over 38Khz

2U panel width

The cornerstone of any synthesizer is the VCO. We feel the MOTM-300 Ultra VCO has 'raised the bar' and quite simply, is the most accurate and best-sounding analog VCO ever offered."

Schippmann Ebbe Und Flut Filter

via this auction
"Do you wondering about what 'ebbe und flut' is? 'ebbe und flut' is a no compromise and absolutely high end sound design machine for musicians, live performer and producers and for all people, who love high sophisticated analogue gear.

The philosophy is to apply high quality electronic components combined with new technologies on a field, where it is normally unusual, providing a new experience of sound and so defining a new analogue standard.

The concept is an integrated modular system, working either as a stand alone unit or as a well integrating part of a modular system.

The core are two very versatile sounding 4-pole multimode VCF's (Voltage Controlled Filters) with 12 different characteristics, completed by a very effective compressor and distortion module, all surrounded by a lot of very reliable super fast/super slow modulators.

The fantastic and enormous powerful sound of 'ebbe und flut' is unique in the world, for sure! 'ebbe und flut' is really alive and it is breathing in a magic manner resulting in an extraordinary spatial, clear and ubiquitous sound, which let you indeed forget, that it is in fact only a filter you hear!

WHY ANALOGUE? Everybody who ever compares analogue and digital soundprocessing knows that there exists an audible difference, which would be always described in the same way: warm, present, directly, living,... It's really difficult to determine and allocate the technical responsibilities. I think, the most important reasons are the rigid mathematical structures of digital signalprocessing tools. The acoustical result is always predetermined, so there is no space for natural and living artefacts.

Analogue technique works completely different. Here we let compute the nature and the physics. A lot of electronic components build a very complexe structure, doing its job by natural laws. It is the same like a string of a guitar, it is another physical level - one is mechanical the other is electric- but it is always the natures computing. So, I am amazed about the extremely high sensitivity of the human capability to hear and feel these very weak natural artefacts. In analogue instruments the nature is talking to us, the better the more freedom you can provide for the electronics."

Yamaha QY-700

via this auction

"the QY700 is a high-end Sequencer Workstation released in the mid to late '90's. It's an all-in-one sequencer with a built-in synthesizer, effects, MIDI and tons of memory! The QY700 makes an excellent alternative to computer-based MIDI studios; the QY700 has the power to be the heart of your MIDI studio.

At it's core, it is a programmable MIDI sequencer. It can store up to 110,000 notes, 48 Tracks (32 Linear, 16 Pattern) and 20 Songs. A built-in 3.5 inch disk drive provides external storage. The sequencer has 64 notes of polyphony which is usually more than enough. The sequencer allows recording in Step, Punch-In, and Realtime with overdubbing features. The tempo can range from 5 to 300 bpm and the Conductor Track is very flexible. Thankfully a fairly large 320 x 240 backlit LCD screen makes entry and editing very easy to see and use.

In addition to controlling your synths via MIDI, the QY700 has it's own Yamaha synth engine inside. Using AWM2 - Advanced Wave Memory - as well as Yamaha's XG format and good old General MIDI sounds, the QY700 has an ample selection of quality digital sounds ready to use! You get nearly 4,000 drums, bass, guitar, and synth sounds. There's even a library of Phrases like intro, fill and ending patterns that you can use. These phrases are highly tweakable and can be made all your own. There's also Chord memory and plenty of built-in effects to use on the internal sounds as well. The QY700 even has a pseudo 2-octave keyboard and assignable mini Pitch/Mod wheels, and programmable foot switches for start, stop, fill, etc. Additional MIDI I/O's and outputs would have been nice, but it's still a capable and musical sequencer.
